Arnold Kirkland Is Run Over By Truck at Hodge Paper Mill Funeral services for Arnold Kirkland, 21 years of age, who died at the Ruston sanitarium, September 25, 1934, from injuries received in his chest when he was run over by his truck at the Hodge Paper Mill Monday, were held at his home in Gansville Wednesday. The Rev. Dodge of Jonesboro had charge of the services. Interment was in the Cypress Creek Cemetery. The accident occurred when Arnold lay down in front of his truck, which was in line with several other trucks hauling pulpwood to the mill. The deceased is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Kirkland, one brother, Goodridge Kirkland of Gansville, and two sisters, Hazel and Lee-oval Kirkland of Jonesboro. He was a nephew of Mrs. J. H. Martin of Winnfield. A large number of relatives and friends from Winnfield and other parts of the parish attended the last rites.
