L. Kirkpatrick Dies; Final Rites To Be In Miss. William L. Kirkpatrick, 63, who had served as manager of the American Creosote Works, Inc., in Winnfield for the past 25 years, died in a local hospital Tuesday, April 1, 1969. He had been in failing health for a number of years. Born in Louisville, Miss., he had been associated with American Creosote Works a number of years before coming here as manager of the Winnfield plant. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Winnfield and was also a member of the Official Board of the Church. In business circles he belonged to the American Wood Preservers Association. He retired as manager of the local plant two months ago. Mr. Kirkpatrick is survived by his wife of Winnfield; one son, William of Hattiesburg, Miss.; and two grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at the First United Methodist Church at 4 p.m. Wednesday with the pastor, Rev. Richard Walton, officiating. Burial will take place in Louisville, Miss., at 4 p.m. Thursday under direction of Southern Funeral Home. Named as pallbearers were Newton Forrest, R. A. Blylan, Don Walsh, J. D. Holmes, Glen Guin, Roland Rogers, J. C. Echols, and J. R. Harrison.
