Funeral services for the Rev. Rufus B. Kitchingham, 72, were held Sunday, December 29, at 2:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Swartz with the Revs. Thurman Davis and Vester Headrick officiating. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe under direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home. The Rev. Mr. Kitchingham was a retired minister, having pastored at several churches in northeast Louisiana. He was a native of Winn Parish. He also was associated with the transportation department at Northeast Louisiana University for several years before going into the ministry. The Rev. Mr. Kitchingham died Saturday, December 28, 1974 after a lengthy illness. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Olive Kitchingham of Monroe; two sons, John B. Kitchingham of Monroe and Charles H. Kitchingham of Dubach; two daughters, Mrs. Jennings H. Wilkins and Mrs. Boyce B. Humble, both of Monroe; one brother, the Rev. John D. Kitchingham of Columbia; two sisters, Mrs. Noah Carpenter of Winnfield and Mrs. Cecil Martin of Calvin; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
