Payne Kochinsky, 38, Colored Porter, T & G, Dies Monday P. M.

Payne Kochinsky, 38 years old, colored porter at the Tremont and Gulf Offices
and depot here died Monday afternoon following a brief illness.

He was well known by both white and colored and was among the most law abiding
colored citizens of Winnfield.

Payne had served for many years as porter at the Tremont and Gulf depot and
offices here and was a prominent church worker and held some of the highest
offices in the colored lodges of the state.

One of the largest colored corteges ever seen here for a funeral left Thursday
morning for Clarence where funeral services will be held and interment made.
