Alex Kochinsky, 102 year old Winnfield Negro, who died in a Monroe Hospital last Saturday, will be buried Saturday, July 23, in the Winnfield Colored Cemetery. Kochinsky will be remembered by old timers as the driver of the J. M. Hyde Mercantile Store delivery wagon for about 30 years. He was later employed by Thomas Lumber Co. and the Rock Island Railway. He was a resident of the McDonald Bottom until his health failed and he was put in a Monroe nursing home. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 noon July 23 at New Zion Baptist Church, with Rev. A. S. Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in the Colored Cemetery. Survivors are his wife, Rosa Mae Kochinsky, Winnfield; four step-daughters, one step-son, and a host of nieces and nephews.
