Alson E. Koonce, Former Winn Resident, Succumbs In Jonesboro

Mr. George Ray of Atlanta, accompanied by his daughters, Mrs. R. H. Porter and
Mrs. Glennie Byrd of Winnfield, attended the funeral of his brother in law,
Alson E. Koonce, 71, in Jonesboro at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, April 24.

Mr. Koonce died in a Hodge clinic Wednesday following a short illness.  The
Rev. W. A. Newsom conducted the last rites with burial following in the Hebron
Cemetery.

Mr. and Mrs. Koonce were former residents of Atlanta.

He is survived by his wife; two brothers, Jim of Winnsboro and R. J. Koonce of
Jonesboro.
