Kornegay of Dodson Suddenly Dies Last Friday J. P. Kornegay, eighty-one years old, died at his home in Dodson last Friday night after a short illness. Funeral services were conducted at the Zion Hill Church and remains buried in the Zion Hill Cemetery Saturday afternoon. Mr. Kornegay was a Confederate Veteran, having served through the whole of the Civil War. He married Miss Mary Cobb, to which union were born eleven children, nine of whom are still living. They are Walter Kornegay, Mrs. Albert Waller, both residents of Dodson, Mrs. James Barnes, Sodus, Mrs. Lawrence Splain, Houston, Tex., Dock Kornegay, Dixie, Mrs. S. B. Price, Shreveport, Manda Kornegay, Monroe, and James Kornegay, Ruston. Mr. Kornegay with his family moved to Dodson from Olla in 1920 and has lived there continuously since that time. He was a member of the Baptist Church.
