All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: September 21, 1933 Winn Parish Enterprise Funeral Services Held For Esther Kornegay Tuesday Young Dodson Girl Claimed By Death Following Major Operation Funeral services for Miss Esther Kornegay, 19 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Kornegay of Dodson, were held Tuesday afternoon at the Dodson Baptist Church, with the Rev. J. L. Dodge, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Jonesboro and the Rev. B. C. Land, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Winnfield, officiating. Miss Kornegay died in an Alexandria sanitarium Sunday, following a major operation. She had been in ill health for several months. She was a member of the Baptist church and a recent graduate of the Dodson High School. She was one of Dodson's most beloved young ladies, and well known in the parish. A host of relatives and friends attended the last rites. Pallbearers were Judson Campbell, R. F. Stovall, Jr., J. T. Anderson, and Mr. Martin, of Sikes. Flower girls were Margaret Stovall, Edith Smith, and Jessie Lee Terrill. The deceased is survived by her parents; two brothers, Henry and Lester; three sisters, Misses Willie, Joy, and Mamie Kornegay.
