Kornegay Last Rites Held At Baptist Church; Interment At Corinth Mrs. Gladys Smith Kornegay, 18 years of age, died Friday, September 21, at 11:30 a.m. in Shreveport enroute from Winnfield to the sanitarium. The remains were brought back to Winnfield and funeral services held at the First Baptist Church, Saturday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock with Rev. B. C. Land, pastor, in charge. Interment was in the family cemetery at Corinth. The deceased was born March 26, 1916, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Pat Smith of Winnfield. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and an active worker in the cradle roll department. Besides her parents she is survived by an infant son, Bobby Lois; and four brothers, Arnold, James, Norwood, and Huey. Among the out of town relatives attending the last rites were Mr. and Mrs. Martin Cannon and daughters, Tessie and Mrs. Gordon Aymond, and son, Lewtellius Cannon, and Mrs. Tessie Aymond, all of Alexandria.
