Fred Kirkland, Native of Winn, Died in Campti

Fred Kirkland, 44, of Campti, and a former resident of Shreveport, died in his
sleep at 11:30 p.m. Saturday March 13, at his home.

Funeral services were held at the Campti Baptist Church at 10 a.m. Monday with
the Rev. John A. Walker, pastor, officiating.  Burial was in Campti.

Kirkland was born in Winn Parish and lived here until he completed the Sikes
High School.  He lived in Shreveport for several years, moving from there to
Campti.  He was a veteran of World War Two.

Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Catherine Taylor Kirkland; mother, Mrs. D. L.
Kirkland, Dodson; two sisters, Mrs. E. D. Prince, Dodson, and Mrs. J. C.
Blount, Shreveport; three brothers, D. C. Kirkland, El Dorado, Ark., and
Arnold and Lawrence Kirkland of Shreveport.
