Long Services for Elizabeth "Woody" Oglesby Long of Hodge, La., formerly of Winnfield, were at 3 p.m. Friday, June 8, at Hodge United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jeff Duke officiating. Graveside services at 4:15 p.m. and burial were at Winnfield City Cemetery under direction of Edmonds Funeral Home of Jonesboro. Mrs. Long died at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 6, 1990, in St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe after a lengthy illness. She was a native of Winnfield, daughter of the late Judge and Mrs. R. W. Oglesby. Following graduation from Winnfield High School, her education included four years of college and she taught for several years in Ouachita Parish schools before joining the Louisiana Department of Public Welfare. She was a retired social worker from the Winnfield DPW office and a resident of Covington, La. for a number of years after retirement before moving to Hodge. Mrs. Long was a member of the Hodge United Methodist Church where she also was a member of the United Methodist Women's association. Survivors include two sons, Layton Long of Hodge and Robert Long of Boeing, Ore.; one dauther, Caroline Devereaux, Fairfax, Va.; two sisters, Alice Stuart Cahill of Hodge and Dorothy O. Gist of Covington; and five grandchildren.
