E. LaCroix, died at the home of his grandparents, Mr. and Ms. A. T. Drewett, on Saturday morning, February 18, at 6:20 o'clock, after only a few days' illness. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Baptist Church, with the Rev. L. D. Posey of Jena officiating. Rev. Posey was assisted in the last rites by Rev. Alwin Stokes of the Presbyterian Church, Rev. Ellis Smith of the Methodist Church, and Rev. F. W. Tinnen, of Shreveport. Burial was in the local cemetery. The child is survived by his parents, his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. A. T. Drewett of Winnfield and Mr. and Mrs. I. B. LaCroix of Pineville, and two great grandmothers, Mrs. J. A. Colvin and Mrs. S. F. Drewett. Pallbearers were the four uncles of the little boy: Drew and I. B. LaCroix and A. T. Jr. And J. C. Drewett. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of T. J. Drewett, undertaker of Mansfield. Out of town relatives and friends attending the funeral included Mr. and Mrs. I. B. LaCroix, I. B. LaCroix, Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Drew LaCroix, Miss Lou Lee, Mrs. Fred Schaedal, Mr. and Mrs. Elisha Tannehill, Mrs. Windon, T. H. Colvin, Elizabeth and Henry Colvin, Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Bailey, all of Pineville; Mrs. G. E. Bozeman and son and Alice Mildred Bozeman of El Paso; Mr. and Mrs. T. L. Smith of Dubach; Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Drewett of Ruston; Oliver Lilly of Alexandria; Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Drewett, Mrs. Everett Griffith, Mrs. Lucy Hebert, all of Mansfield; John Marion LaFleur of Opelousas; Mrs. C. R. Colvin and children and Mrs. Foster of Georgetown. The large concourse of friends at the funeral showed that Little Billy, even in his short life, had made a host of friends in Winnfield for he was loved by all who knew him.
