Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home of West Monroe. Graveside services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Wright Cemetery near Sikes. Mrs. Lafayette was a native of Sikes and was a retired Civil Service employee. She was a member of the Woodlawn Baptist Church in Baton Rouge. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Patsy Swilley of Little Rock, Ark., two sons, Paul Lafayette and Jimmie Lafayette, both of Baton Rouge; two sisters, Mrs. Lyda Burford of West Monroe and Mrs. Quinnie Arceneaux of Baton Rouge; three brothers, I. O. Beavers of West Monroe, A. L. Beavers of Houston, and D. L. Beavers of Delta; six grandchildren and one great grandchild.
