Lang, who died in a Shreveport sanitarium Tuesday afternoon, were held at Mars Hill Baptist Church Thursday morning at 11:30 o'clock. He died on his 47th birthday following an illness of several weeks. Mr. Lang is former state representative from Winn parish, and an outstanding leader in his community and parish. He was born near Atlanta January 1, 1897. He graduated from Verda High School in 1917 and immediately volunteered for the U. S. Army serving through World War I until honorably discharged in 1919. He resumed his education at Louisiana State Normal college and took up the teaching profession, being principal of several large schools in Winn Parish. In 1923 he entered the saw mill business and was owner of several saw mills in Winn and Grant Parishes. He was elected to the state legislature in 1932 and served until 1936. Mr. Lang was an outstanding citizen of Winn Parish and a community leader, being a member of the Baptist church, a member of the Masonic Lodge, American Legion, and active in other organizations. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Eulah Harlan Lang; one daughter, Mrs. James Murphy of Milwaukee, Wis.; one son, Willard Lang of Atlanta; his father, R. M. Lang of Atlanta; two sisters, Mrs. James Fletcher of Colfax, and Mrs. Aaron Fletcher of Verda; four brothers, O. Ross Lang, Pierce Lang, Otho Lang, and R. B. Lang of Montgomery.
