All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: February 14, 1952 Winn Parish Enterprise Odus Lasyone, 40, World War Vet, Buried Sunday Funeral services for Odus Clarence Lasyone, 40, of Jordan Hill, were held last Sunday, February 10 at 10 a.m. following his death in the Veterans Hospital, Alexandria, Thursday at 9:55 p.m. He had been ill about one month. Services were in the Big Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Albert Nugent, his pastor, and Rev. H. J. Mott of Laurel Heights Baptist Church officiating. Burial was in Jordan Cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home in Winnfield. He was a veteran of World War I, and was born and educated in Verda, La. He was an active member of Jordan Hill Baptist Church, was secretary of the adult Bible class, and General Training Union director, and was commended by his friends as being a willing worker. He was married to Jimmie Lee Smith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Smith, and they had two children, one of whom survive. Surviving are his wife, one son, Doyle, of Jordan Hill; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Lasyone of Winnfield; one brother, Huey of Winnfield; four sisters, Mrs. Vergie Sanders, Verda, Mrs. Bertha Lee Stamps, Winnfield, Mrs. Opal Womack, Winnfield, and Mrs. Juanice Wagoner, Winnfield. Pallbearers were five brother in laws, Julius Smith, Vernon Keen, Webbie Sanders, Willie Broadway, and Andrew Maloy, and one cousin, Grady Smith.
