E. Lashley Dies Former Winn Parish Police Jury President Buford E. Lashley died Friday, December 24, after a brief hospitalization in Winnfield. He was a native of Grant Parish but had lived most of his lifetime in Winn in Ward Six. Mr. Lashley was 59 years of age and had served Ward Six as police juror for a 4 year term, which began in 1956. He was president of the Jury his last year in office. Funeral services were conducted at the Mars Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. C. C. Martin and Glyn Griffin officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Earnest Melton, Henry Keiffer, Gus Crawford, Ardis Brewton, Willard Harlan, Grover Jeter. Honorary pallbearers were Clifford Long, Crosby Adams, Alfred Spangler, Clayton Norred, W. H. Collins, Eli Harrell, Jack Rice, Herman Boyett, and Kenneth Watts. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. B. E. Lashley, Winnfield; three sons, Elmo, James, and Walter, of Winnfield; two daughters, Mrs. C. W. Jones, Winnfield, and Mrs. J. D. Snead of Moab, Utah; one brother, J. H. Lashley, Alexandria; three sisters, Mrs. Ella Guilliams, Winnfield, Mrs. Annie Deen, Montgomery, and Mrs. Laura Corbitt, Montgomery.
