J. Lashley, 82, Dies Thursday Rites Friday Thomas J. Lashley, 82, of Route 1, Atlanta, died at 8:45 a.m. Thursday June 9, in a local hospital after a short illness. He was a native of Grant Parish and a member of the Baptist Church. Services will be held at 2 p. m. Friday at Liberty Chapel near Williana with Rev. C. C. Martin, Rev. Deloy Shows, and Rev. Dick DeBusk officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Survivors are three sons, Thomas G. Lashley, New Verda, Cooter Lashley, Atlanta, Lonnie Lashley of Winnfied; three daughters, Mrs. Etha Corbett of Rayville, Mrs. Joy Foster of Pollock, and Mrs. Loy Rice of Winnfield; three brothers, O. M. Lashley and H. G. Lashley, both of New Verda, and M. C. Lashley of Tioga; one sister, Mrs. Bell Keith of Colfax, 24 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.
