Lashley Dies At Age of 73 on September 26 Funeral services for Mrs. Senria Lasyone Lashley, 73 year old resident of Mars Hill, were held at the Baptist Church there on Wednesday, September 27, with interment in the Baptist Cemetery. The wife of J. M. Lashley, she was the second daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Lasyone. Surviving are her husband, four daughters, Mrs. S. L. Garrett of Shreveport, Mrs. Eller Guilliams of Verda, Mrs. Laura Corbett and Mrs. Annie Dean; two sons, J. H. Lashley of Alexandria and B. E. Lashley of Atlanta, Route Two; two sisters, Mrs. Sidney Lashley and Mrs. Mary Keith; aond one half brother, R. J. Lasyone of Winnfield. Mrs. Lashley passed away at 1:40 p.m Tuesday, September 26 at her home. Final rites were conducted by Rev. Otto Hughes, Mars Hill Baptist pastor. A beloved resident of her community, she was know as "Aunt Senria" by those who knew her familiarly. She leaves nineteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Lloyd Guilliams, J. T. Guilliams, Monroe Corbett, her grandsons, Lonnie Deen, Sug and Tommy Lashley. Out of town friends attending the services were Mrs. Bryan Rimball, Mrs. H. P. Mayeaum, Mrs. T. C. Lanningham, Mrs. J. M. Murphy, Miss Doris Mayeaum, Mr. Stokes and Dave Hoffman of Alexandria. (According to descendants Sybil James Guilliams, Dorman Guilliams, and Bobby Deen, "Serina" is the proper spelling of the first name).
