Lasyone Dies February 7 Funeral services for Odus Clarence Lasyone of Jordan Hill, age 40 years, four months, and 19 days, who passed away at the Veterans Hospital in Pineville Thursday, Feb. 7, 1952, at 9:55 p.m. after an illness of about one month, were held in the Big Creek Baptist Church of Jordan Hill Sunday, Feb. 10 at 10 a.m. Burial was in Jordan Hill Cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield. Active pallbearers were five brothers in law, Julius Smith, Vernon Keen, Webbie Sanders, Willie Broadway, and Andrew Maloy, and one cousin, Grady Smith. Surviving him are his wife and one son, Doyle, of Jordan Hill; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Lasyone of Winnfield; one brother, Huey Lasyone of Winnfield; four sisters, Mrs. Virgil Sanders, Verda; Mrs. Bertha Lee Stamps, Winnfield; Mrs. Opal Womack, Winnfield, and Mrs. Juanice Wagoner of Winnfield. He was born and received his education in Verda, La. He was an active member and devoted Christian of the Baptist Church of Jordan Hill, was secretary of the Adult Bible Class and general director of all training unions, and was willing and ready to do anything to further the cause of Christ in his church; when called upon for special work, he would smile and say, "I'll do my best." He was married to Jimmy Lee Smith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Smith of Jordan Hill.
