J. W. Lasyone Dies After Lengthy Illness

James W. Lasyone, 86, of Joyce, La., died at 6 a.m. Tuesday, January 4, 1971
in Winnfield General Hospital after a lengthy illness.

He was a native of Grant Parish and a member of East Winnfield Baptist Church.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Southern Funeral Home Chapel
with Rev. J. L. Holt officiating, assisted by Rev. Jimmy Yocum.  Burial was in
Sardis Cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home.

Survivors include one son, Huey Lasyone of Joyce; four daughters, Mrs. W. D.
Sanders of Joyce, Mrs. Janice Wagoner of Arkansas, Mrs. Opal Norred of Hodge,
and Mrs. Bertha Lee Carter of Shreveport; three brothers, Ernest Lasyone,
Lee Lasyone, both of Verda, Mrs. Ed Lasyone of Dry Prong, nine grandchildren
and eight great grandchildren.
