D. Lasyone, of Tullos, former resident of Winnfield, Harvey Lee Cockerham, 11 year old son of Mrs. Eulah Cockerham, Tullos, and Jesse G. Evans, 20, taxi driver, were killed instantly Monday at 7 p.m. in a freight train auto collision at Rochelle. Mr. Evans suffered a fractured skull; the Cockerham lad received a broken neck, and the little Lasyone boy had his head crushed. Lee Ford, Negro, 34, of Tullos, also in the car, suffered fractured chest bones and was carried to charity hospital. According to reports there were no obstructions to prevent seeing the approaching train, the headlights were burning and the whistle had been sounded for the road crossing. The fireman advised that the car was driven onto the railroad track and no attempt was made to stop. It was presumed that the driver of the car apparently did not see the approaching train. Funeral services for the Lasyone child were held Thursday at the Iatt Church near Verda, with the Rev. C. Arrington in charge.
