J. Lasyone of Winnfield Mr. Wickliff Lasyone, a brother of Mr. R. J. Lasyone of Winnfield was fatally injured while cutting logs near Rochelle Friday afternoon, May 15th. A tree he was sawing lodged on another smaller tree and when he cut the smaller tree it flew up and hit him the face, crushing his nose and both cheek bones. He was rushed to the Baptist sanitarium in Alexandria where he died from internal injuries and loss of blood Sunday night. Funeral services were conducted May 19th at Liberty, near Williana. Rev. B. C. Land, pastor Winnfield Baptist Church was in charge of the services. The deceased is survived by his wife, who was before her marriage Miss Bessie Foster, and six children, Tressie, Johnnie Bell, Arlon, Elmer, Melba, and Mrs. Jervie Arnold. He is also survived by three sisters and four brothers, Mrs. J. M. Lashley and Mrs. Sidney Lashley of Atlanta, Route Two; Mrs. Sug Keith, Williana, Bob Lasyone and R. J. Lasyone of Winnfield, and R. A. Lasyone and Adolphia Lasyone of Verda.
