Mrs. Lawley (nee Taylor) was born in Arcadia, La., May 30th 1950 being 75 years, 5 months, and 5 days of age on the day of her death. While quite a young woman she united with the Baptist Church and was an earnest consecrated worker in the local Baptist Church until failing health prevented her activities. On September 25th, 1873 she married Frank W. Lawley, now deceased to which union eight children were born, the only surviving one is a daughter, Mrs. Garfield Gimber, with whom Mrs. Lawley resided. Many hearts were saddened because of the death of this good woman, for again and again she proved herself a friend indeed by being a friend in need and her timely visits and words of encouragement will be missed by many, other than invalids and shut-ins. Funeral services were held at the cemetery by Dr. G. H. Crutcher last Sunday afternoon after which the Eastern Star had charge with their burial services. The only surviving relatives are a daughter, Mrs. Garfield Gimber, and her family of Winnfield; a grandson, Charley Lawley, Tioga; a sister, Mrs. T. J. Durrett, Bienville; two brothers, J. J. Taylor of Haughton and Beauregard Taylor of Florida. Out of town friends attending the funeral were T. J. Merritt and daughters, Sarah and Ollie of Tioga; Mr. and Mrs. Matt Moore of Packton; Mr. and Mrs. R. D. Sims, Arcadia; Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Johnston and daughter, Corin, of Jena.
