Last Rites For W. R. Lawrence Held At Hurricane Grove

Funeral services for William R. Lawrence, 75, who died at his home in West
Monroe, Aug. 19, were held Aug. 20 at the Hurricane Grove Baptist Church with
the Rev. Edward Smith, pastor, officiating.  Burial followed in the Hurricane
Grove Cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Alfred Parker, Ezell Parker, Fred Thomas, Wilmer, Webbie,
and Floyce Sanders.

A native of Sikes, the deceased is survived by three sons, Coy of Dodson, Jack
of El Dorado, Elzie (Sgt. Bill) of West Monroe police force; a daughter, Mrs.
Univ Wilson, Winnfield; 11 grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Bell Head and
Mrs. Lytha Thomas, Sikes; and Mrs. A. D. Young of West Monroe; four brothers,
George, Henry, Dave, and Ben Lawrence, all of West Monroe.
