Marshall E. Lay, Winn Native, Dies Monday

Marshall Edward Lay, 52, of Coushatta, died Monday, September 37, 1971.

A native of the Jordan Hill Community, Mr. Lay was a member of the Big Creek
Baptist Church.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Big Creek Baptist
Church with the Rev. Willie Russell officiating.  Burial was in the Jordan
Hill Cemetery.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Susie Lay of Coushatta; his mother, Mrs.
Florence Williams of Winnfield; two sons, Ray E. Lay of Ruston and
Charlie D. Lay of Monroe; five daughters, Mrs. Patsy Lincecum of Ball, Miss
Belinda Lay of Monroe, Miss Shelia Lay of Sterlington, and Miss Patricia Lay
and Miss Doria Lay of Coushatta; one brother, James I. Lay of Dallas, Texas,
two grandchildren, and six stepchildren.

Pallbearers included Owen Jordan, Harvey Jordan, Larry Bruce, Lavelle Bartley,
Thomas Antley, Charlie Lincecum, and Clifford Bartley.
