J. J. Lee Dies of Heart Attack in Hospital Sat. A. M.

James Joe Lee, age 84, died in a local hospital last Saturday from a heart
attack following a long illness.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at four o'clock at the First
Baptist Church here with the Rev. W. L. Holcomb officiating.  Burial was in
the Harmony Grove Cemetery at Gaars Mill.

Born in Bradley County, Arkansas, Mr. Lee came to the Gaars Mill Community
about fifty years ago, where he resided until he moved to Winnfield more than
five years ago.

Surviving him are one son, Sherwood Lee, Kellogg, Idaho, three daughters, Mrs.
Henry Cockerham, and Mrs. R. M. Cleary, Winnfield, Mrs. Gertie Sanders,
Monroe; one brother, L. L. Lee, Dallas, Texas; two half brothers, Mack L.
Branch, Winnfield and J. W. Branch, Wyatt; one half sister, Mrs. Carrie
Tugwell, four grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
