All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: November 28, 1968 Winn Parish Enterprise News-American Funeral Rites For Mrs. Mary Lemmons Held Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Margaret Lemmons, 86, wife of the late Charles William Lemmons and residents of the Dewey, Oklahoma vicinity for many years, were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday in the Church of the Nazarene, Nowata. Interment was directed in the Dewey Cemetery by the Arnold Moore Funeral Service of Oklahoma. A native of Kansas, Mrs. Lemmons was born at Wichita on December 2, 1881 and was reared and received her education at Wichita and in Logan Co., Indian Territory. She was married on November 27, 1900 at Mulhall, Okla., to Mrs. Charles William Lemmons and the moved to Dewey in 1912 and made their home there for several years where Mr. Lemmons was a cement contractor and stone mason. They made their home in Hominy, Okla., from 1928 and following the death of her husband, in March, 1945 at Hominy, Mrs. Lemmons moved to Winnfield, La. and where she has made her home intermittently for the past twenty-three years. She passed away early on Friday morning at the home of her daughter in Winnfield and was removed to Bartlesville for final rites. Survivors include six sons, Clifford W. Lemmons and Jack W. Lemmon, both of Hominy, Okla., Daniel E. Lemmons, Stillwater, Okla., B. D. "Buster" Lemmons, Winnfield, La., Amos P. Lemmons, Edgerton, Wisc., and Charles Douglas Lemmons, Odessa, Texas; three daughters, Mrs. Leo Dick, Nowata, Okla., Mrs. Frank Johnson, Winnfield, La., and Mrs. Roy Fowler, Napa, California; and 45 grandchildren.
