Father of Local Resident Dies in Dry Prong

Bill Lester, 59 (or 60), of Dry Prong, died at his home Monday afternoon, July
24, 1972 following a lengthy illness.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lizzie Ruth Lester of Dry Prong; four sons,
Shelton Lester of Spanish Fort, Ala., Jerry Lester and Freddie Lester, both of
Mobile, Ala., and Bobby Lester of Alexandria; two daughters, Mrs. Billie Hayes
of Winnfield and Mrs. Shirley Maxey of Dry Prong; three brothers, John Lester
and Ed Lester, both of Jonesboro, and Wiley Lester of Pineville; five sisters,
Mrs. Della Jones, Mrs. Janie Hagan, Mrs. Susie Baum, and Mattie Arnold, all of
Dry Prong, and Mrs. Jeanie Chandler of Jonesboro; and 13 grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at Dry Prong Baptist Church at 3 p.m. Wednesday
with Rev. Wilburn Taylor officiating.  Burial was in the Dry Prong Cemetery
under direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.
