Levett Of Sikes, Succumbs Saturday, May 25 C. E. Levett, 63, of Sikes, succumbed Saturday, May 25, 1940, following an illness of six months duration. A native of White's County, Illinois, he had been a resident of the Sikes Community for the past 17 years and was one of the most successful farmers and one of the best informed citizens of his community. In 1926, Mr. Levett was married to Mrs. S. J. Hatten of Sikes, who survives him. He also leaves his stepson and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Hatten, of Sikes, and Mr. and Mrs. John Sanders of Marthaville, and the following grandchildren, Bertrum, Dale, and Nove Dee Hatten. Interment was made in the Sikes Cemetery. Officiating at the funeral were the Rev. Tom Ratliff of Olla, pastor of the Sikes Baptist Church, and the Rev. L. D. Emmons. Pallbearers were L. W. and J. J. Gulledge, R. S. Jordan and Roscoe Scarborough.
