Colored Deaths

George Lewis Dies

George Lewis, 63, retired Negro employee of the L & A Railway, died November
20 in a Winnfield hospital following a stroke.  He was a native of Williams,
La., but lived in Ward Eight, Winn Parish, for about 30 years.

Burial was in Union Hill Cemetery November 23 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Swannie
Davenport officiating.

Surviving are his wife, Odlee Lewis; one daughter, Georgie Mae Hollingsworth.
