All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: July 7, 1938 Winn Parish Enterprise Last Rites Are Held For Mrs. Fannie Long, 85 Aged Resident of Winnfield Succumbs Tuesday Night Mrs. Fannie Long, 85, aunt of the late Senator Huey P. Long, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Nancy Morrison, at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral services were held at the Baptist Church of which the deceased was a member, Wednesday afternoon at 4 o'clock with the pastor, Rev. B. C. Land officiating. Assisting in the services were Rev. Alwin Stokes, Presbyterian pastor, and Rev. G. A. Morgan, Methodist pastor. Interment was in the Winnfield Cemetery. Acting as pallbearers were grandsons of the deceased: John Bell, Jack Tannehill, and Doris Warner of Winnfield; Carl Long of Alexandria; Morley Long and Dr. A. D. Long of Jackson, La., E. Guy Martin of Shreveport, and Murphy Tannehill of Urania. Mrs. Long was born in Georgia, but moved to Winn Parish when a small child. She was the widow of the late W. E. Long and was before her marriage Miss Frances Woodruff. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Lula Tannehill, Winnfield; Mrs. J. T. King, Rising Star, Texas; Mrs. Nancy Morrison, Winnfield; five sons, R. H. Long, Winnfield; Wade H. Long, Jackson, La.; Dr. A. D. Long, and J. Weaver Long, El Paso, Texas, and W. E. Long, Trees, La.
