Funeral Services Held Today For Mrs. Lucy Long

Funeral services for Mrs. Lucy Long, 86, life long resident of Winn Parish,
were held at 2 p.m. Thursday afternoon, January 29, at the Zion Church with
the Rev. McCartney and Rev. Gilmore officiating.  Burial was in the Zion
Cemetery under direction of Hixson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Long, who had been in ill health for several years, passed away at the
home of her son, C. C. Long, Georgetown, Route 1, on Tuesday, January 27.

She was born in Winn Parish in 1861 and had lived here almost all her life. 
She was the widow of the late W. J. Long, who died about four years ago.

Surviving are four sons, C. C. Long, O. A. Long, and F. W. Long, of Georgetown
and O. H. Long of Baton Rouge; and one daughter, Mrs. C. A. White of 
Pineville.  She is also survived by a number of grandchildren and other 
relatives, many of whom live in Winn Parish.
