T. Long Will Be Held Friday Mrs. R. T. Long, 70, died at her home on Route One, Winnfield, Thursday at 3 a.m. following an illness of some time with heart trouble. Funeral services will be conducted at the Corinth Baptist Church Friday afternoon, January 23, with the Rev. H. H. McBride, pastor of the First Baptist Church, Winnfield, officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home. Born in Mississippi in 1877, Mrs. Long moved to Winn Parish at an early age, where she spent her entire life. She was a member of the Baptist Church and was the wife of Rev. R. T. Long, pastor of the Sharon Baptist Church near Sikes, and well known minister in this parish. Besides her husband, Mrs. Long leaves six daughters, Mrs. Ethel Whittington, Mrs. Nola Yarrick, and Mrs. Emma Bassett, Winnfield; Mrs. Laura Sheppard, Delhi; Mrs. Willie Williams and Mrs. Nella Melton, Georgetown; two sisters, Mrs. D. S. Johnson and Mrs. Martha Jones, Monroe; eleven grandchildren and a host of friends. Acting as pallbearers will be five son in laws, Woodrow Melton, Tommy Yarrick, Ed Sheppard, George Williams, and John Bassett, and a nephew, Earl E. Long.
