Felix Long Dies At Home on Rt. 2 Wednesday 81 Year Old Resident Succumbs From Pneumonia Funeral services for Charles Felix Long, who died Wednesday, October 23, as a result of pneumonia, were held at the Corinth Cemetery at 2:00 Thursday afternoon with the Rev. Alwin Stokes and Rev. H. A. McMurry in charge. Pallbearers were E. C. Prince, Mr. Haddox, Frank Long, Olney Long, Clinton Allen, and J. W. Long. Mr. Long, who was only ill a short time before his death, was 81 years of age. He was born in Mississippi in 1859, and moved to Louisiana with his family when he was about 4 years of age. He has lived in Winn Parish since that time, and was well known as one of the most prosperous farmers of Route 2, Winnfield. Surviving Mr. Long are his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Smith Long, three daughters, Mrs. C. W. Allen, Natchitoches, Mrs. David Nugent, Rochelle, La., and Mrs. Jim Gilmore, Waterproof, La.; six sons, John Long, Parker Long, and Oscar Long, Winnfield Route 2; Morris Long, Rodessa, Felix Long, Olla, and Jim Long, Winnfield; one brother, Will Long, Georgetown, La., and thirty-eight grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.
