J. Long Saturday Dies of Pneumonia Following Week's Illness Funeral services for Mrs. A. J. Long, 60 years of age, who died at the Fitz- Faith clinic Friday, following a week's illness with pneumonia, were held at the First Baptist Church Saturday afternoon, October 14, 1933. The pastor, Rev. B. C. Land, assisted by Rev. Alwin Stokes, and Rev. Ellis Smith, had charge. Interment was in the Winnfield Cemetery. A large concourse of relatives and friends attended. Pallbearers were: Jim Carter, Bill white, Tracey Harrell, E. J. Byrnes, W. C. Colvin, and Bryant Sholars. Mrs. Long was born at Zion, Grant Parish, and was before her marriage to Albert J. Long, Miss Mary E. Bryant. Besides her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Miss Edith Ann Long, teacher in the Winnfield grammar school; one grandson, Albert J. Long, III, of Winnfield; and four sons, Otho of Winnfield, Albert of Shreveport, Bryant of Baton Rouge, and Murphy of Monticello; and one sister, Mrs. M. D. Morris, of Pineville. Among the out of town relatives and friends attending the last rites were: George Morris, Pollock, Murray Morris and wife, Pineville; Mrs. Julia Nugent, Mrs. Oscar Cappell, Mrs. Louis Jones, Mrs. Annie Krepps, Alexandria, Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Davis, Ruston; Mrs. Jack O'Laughlin, El Dorado; Mrs. A. G. Corbett, Gilbert; Mrs. Aubrey Scott, Winnsboro; Mrs. Perry Norman, Dallas; Mr. Will Long and family, Georgetown; Mrs. O. H. Long and family, Georgetown; Dr. Marshall Cappell, Alexandria; Miss Ethel Kinard, Mrs. M. B. Cupp, elva Cupp, Vera Kinard, Junction City; Miss Ruby Sanders, Baton Rouge; Miss Leslea Long, Hodge; and Earl K. Long, New Orleans.
