Long, Sr., pioneer residents of Winnfield, died at age 93, Tuesday, January 14, 1969 in a local hospital. A member of the Baptist Church for 80 years, Mrs. Long in recent years had affiliated with Laurel Heights Baptist Church, of which she was a member at the time of her death. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Southern Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. C. C. Martin officiating. Interment was in the Winnfield Cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield. Survivors are one son, Rufus H. Long, Jr., of Jonesboro; one daughter, Mrs. Lessie Lea Boyd of Winnfield; three sisters, Mrs. Pearl Watson of Walker, Mrs. Nettie Blackstock of Hodge, and Mrs. Ocie Twilley of Houston, Texas; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Charlie James, Murphy Worsham, Benny Roberts, J. P. McManus, L. B. Hemperley, and Estes Bozeman.
