R. Long, 51, Georgetown Native, Dies Funeral services for C. R. "Pete" Long, 51, of 203 Fernwood, West Monroe, were held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Mulhearn Funeral Home chapel in West Monroe with Dr. Jerry Edmondson officiating. Graveside services were at 3 p.m. at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Pineville. Mr. Long died Monday, July 8, 1974 in St. Francis Hospital after a long illness. A native of Georgetown, Mr. Long was a test board supervisor for South Central Bell Telephone Company and a veteran of World War II. He was a member of Fair Park Baptist Church and of the Downtown Monroe Lions Club. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. LaVeteria Long of West Monroe; a son, Jerry Long of Baton Rouge; one daughter, Elizabeth Ann Long of West Monroe; and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank W. Long of Georgetown. Pallbearers were John Sneed, Elmer Vaughn, Joe Rodgers, Shirley Cupit, David Hall, and Howard Morton.
