Hardy Long Killed Instantly In Collision Roger Hoyt Long, 14, of Atlanta, Texas, was instantly killed near Ringgold when the car in which he was riding with his parents collided with another at an intersection of highways. The Longs were enroute to Winnfield to visit Mr. Long's brother, J. Hardy Long. There were no known witnesses to the tragedy except drivers of the two automobiles. The victim was riding in the light coupe with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. Q. Long of Atlanta, Texas, when an automobile said to have been driven by Leland Myers drove on the main highway from a side road. According to testimony, Myers' automobile struck the front wheel of the long automobile causing it to overturn three times. The body of the youth was found a short distance from the scene of the collision, causing officials to believe that he had been thrown from the car. He was instantly killed. The victim was an only child. The body was returned to Atlanta for funeral services Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Hardy Long of Winnfield were notified of the accident and went to the scene of the collision and attended the funeral services in Atlanta Monday.
