Richard Long Dies on Friday; Funeral Saturday Life Long Resident of Winn Was Pastor Of Several Churches Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon for the Rev. Richard T. Long, 70, who died in a local hospital Friday. Rites were conducted at the Corinth Baptist church by the Rev. Robert Myers of Montgomery and the Rev. W. C. Bounds, pastor of the Sardis Baptist Church, and interment, in the Corinth Cemetery, was under the direction of the Southern Funeral Home. The deceased was a life long resident of Winn Parish, and until his health failed a few years ago, he was a successful farmer in the Corinth Community. He was an active Baptist minister for many years and was pastor of a number of rural churches in this area at various times. Survivors include his widow, six daughters, Mrs. Ethel Whitting, Mrs. Nola Yarrick and Mrs. Emma Bassett of Winnfield; Mrs. Laura Sheppard of Delhi; Mrs. Bill Williams of Georgetown and Mrs. Nola Melton, Baton Rouge; three brothers, Joe and Henry Long of Winnfield and Mike Long of Henderson, Texas, and a number of grandchildren.
