Long, 75, Buried Here 2 P.M. Monday, April 11 Last rites for Wade Huffman Long, 75, who died suddenly at the home of his daughter, Mrs. E. Guy Martin, in Baton Rouge on his birthday, April 9, were held at the home of his sister, Mrs. Nancy Morrison, Natchitoches highway, at 2 p.m. Monday, April 11. The Rev. John William Warner, assisted by Dr. W. L. Holcomb, officiated. Burial was in the family plot in the Winnfield cemetery under direction of Hixson Brothers. Acting as pallbearers were Howard King, Carl Long, Morley Long, Lloyd Key, Murphy Tannehill, Abe Domingue, and Rufus Long. Retired for several years, Mr. Long had been in failing health for some time. He was the son of the late William Edward Long and Frances Woodruff Long, pioneer residents of Winn Parish, and was reared below Cedar Creek. During the administration of the late Huey P. Long as governor of Louisiana, Mr. Long served as manager of the state prisoner farm at Angola, and also at one time as manager of the state hospital at Jackson, La. Surviving are his daughter, Mrs. Martin of Baton Rouge, one granddaughter; three sisters, Mrs. Lula Tannehill and Mrs. L. F. Morrison, Winnfield; Mrs. Ola King, Austin, Texas; two brothers, W. E. Long, Jr., Baton Rouge, and J. W. Long, El Paso, Texas.
