L. E. Long, 71, Dies; Rites Held Wednesday

Lonnie E. Long, 71, of Winnfield, died July 24, 1973 in a local hospital.  He
was a native of Winn Parish, a member of the Corinth Baptist Church, and a saw
mill employee.

Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Wednesday in Southern Funeral Home Chapel
with Rev. Charles Haley officiating, assisted by Rev. W. R. Gage.  Burial was
in Garden of Memories.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Opal W. Long of Winnfield, one son, Charles
Melvin Long of New Iberia, two brothers, Manuel Long of Winnfield and Ben Long
of Tullos, three sisters, Mrs. Ella Baxley of Winnfield, Mrs. Jessie Jourdan
of Winnfield, and Mrs. Donnie Coburn of Pineville, and two grandchildren.
