Mother of Local Man Succumbed Last Week in Alexandria

Mrs. Bertie Looper, aged 43, mother of Lisso Looper, employee of Milam's
Wholesale House, died in the Alexandria sanitarium Monday, December 14,
following a short illness.  Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at the
Bentley Church.

Mrs. Looper was a former resident of Winnfield, having resided here several
years ago when her husband was employed at the American Creosote Company.

The deceased is survived by her husband, J. F. Looper of Bentley, six
children, Armand Looper of Alexandria, Nancy, Claudie, Doris, and Edwin of
Bentley, and Lisso Looper of Winnfield, her mother, Mrs. J. W. Avery of
Bentley, two brothers and two sisters, John Avery of Alexandria, Mrs. H. Lewis
of Oak Grove, Lula Avery and Brett Avery of Bentley.

Attending the last rites from Winnfield were Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Walker and
daughter, Juanita, W. H. Jordan, S. R. Looper, Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Pollard, Mr.
and Mrs. T. O. Pollard and others.
