A former Atlanta resident was killed near Tipton, California, August 23. He was Billy G. Lovell, 31, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Cox of Atlanta. His mother and two sisters attended funeral services at Lubbock, Texas. Lovell, a resident of Amarillo, was employed by a produce company in that city and at the time of his death was a passenger in a delivery truck and was enroute to his home when the fatal collision occurred. Born in Grant Parish near Pollock, Lovell attended Atlanta schools until the age of 17 when he joined the army and finished high school while in service. He is survived by his parents, his wife, Lydia Lovell, and children Pam, Billy, Jr., and Kenny of Oxnard, Calif., a brother, Buster Lovell of Lubbock, Texas; three sisters, Mrs. Roy Ben Cox of Millington, Penn., Mrs. Dorothy Neal of Koscuisko, Miss., and Mrs. Thelma Sapia of Warwick, Rhode Island; and two half brothers, Leroy and David Cox, both of Atlanta.
