Atlanta Native Dies, Burial At Mars Hill

Mrs. Edna Mae Lovell, 78, of Tioga, died in a Shreveport hospital at 1:30 p.m.
Jan. 9.

Funeral services were held at the Mars Hill Baptist Church near Montgomery at
2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11.  Burial was in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Lovell, a resident of Tioga for the past 14 years, was a native of
Atlanta, La., and had taught school in Grant Parish.

She is survived by two sons, R. D. Lovell of Santa Maria, Calif., and T. W.
Lovell of Shreveport; two daughters, Mrs. S. O. Johnston of Tucson, Ariz., and
Mrs. W. A. McCarty, Jr., of Tioga; two brothers, O. L. Durham of Montgomery
and W. T. Durham of Shreveport; a sister, Mrs. M. C. Deen of Montgomery; 13
grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
