All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: February 5, 1931 Winn Parish Enterprise Mrs. Love Dies In Shreveport Last Friday Remains Interred In Forest Park Cemetery, Shrevport, Jan. 30, 1931 (Reprint from The Minden Herald) Thursday morning, January 29, Mrs. W. D. Love, 29, succumbed in the Minden Sanitarium at 5:45 o'clock. The news came as a shock to everyone who knew her. She was taken to the sanitarium Wednesday night. Mrs. Love was well known in Minden having lived here for several years and made many friends. She was born at Winnfield, La., March 21, 1901, where she attended the public schools and graduated. Later she took a business course and graduated afterwards coming to Minden where she was employed. Before her marriage she was Miss Henry Hazel Riser. On December 2, 1922, she was married to W. D. Love of this city but formerly of Winnfield. To this union was born a daughter, Elinor Anne, now age five. She was very active in community work and at the time of her death was a member and also treasurer of the Woman's Department Club of Minden. In early girlhood she became a member of the Baptist Church of Winnfield and later moved her membership to the First Baptist Church of this city. She was also a member of the Mother's Club of Minden. Funeral services were held at the Love home on Buchanan Street in Pinehurst Addition at 9 o'clock Friday morning with Rev. W. F. O'Kelley officiating. After the rites she was taken to the Forest Park Cemetery, in Shreveport, for interment. Active pallbearers were Hugh Wylie, Otis Dye, A. D. Turner, C. E. Harper, T. C. Campbell, W. B. Jones, R. R. Adams, and Dr. Edgar Butler. Honorary pallbearers were Grady Gray, E. P. King, Rollin Williams, T. C. Martin, Melville Burnett, James P. Kent, Jr., Dr. J. D. Kilgore, Albert Thompson, Walter White, Clinton Harper, B. P. Davis, L. C. Moore, and E. M. Woods. Surviving Mrs. Love are her husband, William Durward Love, and daughter, Elinor Anne; her mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Riser of Winnfield; and five sisters, Irma Riser of Little Rock, Ark., Mrs. B. G. Newton, Pine Bluff, Ark., Mary, Sarah, and Ruth Elaine, all of Winnfield.
