"Ike" Lowery Dies in New York, Burial at Ruston Harold E. "Ike" Lowery, executive vice president of Continental Emsco, died suddenly June 6 from a heart attack in Scarsdale, New York, while playing golf. He was a native of Winn Parish, a graduate of Winnfield High School, Louisiana Tech, and a member of the Masonic Lodge. Lowery had been associated with Continental Emsco since leaving Louisiana Tech, except for a period of service with the U. S. Navy during World War II. As an Emsco employee he had been in charge of some of their operations in South American and spent some time in Europe. Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Ruston with burial in the Ruston Greenwood Cemetery. Employees of Emsco served as pallbearers. He is survived by his wife, the former Irene Taylor of Ruston; three sons, Bob, Ken, and David; a daughter, Harriett Lowery; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. Hatley Lowery, Jordan Hill Community, Winn Parish; two sisters, Mrs. John A Carrara (Bee), of Baton Rouge, and Mrs. Charlie D. Waller (Estelle) of Dodson; two brothers, John A. of Doyline and J. W. of Laurel, Miss. (Note: Mr. Lowery was a great high school football player at Winnfield High School and went on to be a great player at Louisiana Tech, where I believe he was captain of the team).
