Mrs. M. Lowery, 82, Dies; Burial At Transport

Mrs. Mattie Francis Lowery, 82, of Sikes, La., died at 1:30 a.m. Friday,
November 10, 1967 in a Winnfield hospital.  She was a native of Jackson Parish
and a member of the Assembly of God Church.

She is survived by three sons, Oscar Lowery of Dodson, Luther Lowery of
Jonesboro, and George Lowery of Sikes; a daughter, Mrs. Hazel Caraway of West
Monroe; a brother, Nathan Butler of Gansville; a sister, Mrs. Maggie B.
Wingate of West Monroe; 21 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Dodson Assembly of God
Church by Rev. Willie James.  Burial was in Transport Cemetery near Dodson by
Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Winnfield.
