W. Lucs At Sikes August 15 Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 15, 1959, at the Sikes Baptist Church for Thomas W. Lucas, 73, who died August 14 in a Winnfield hospital. The Rev. Winfred Emmons and Rev. Carter Hall officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. Acting as pallbearers were Red Crain, Charles and Thurmon Shell, Machel Mayes, Carl Womack, and E. E. Parker. Mr. Lucas was a lifelong resident of Winn Parish and was a retired farmer and public worker. Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Mary McCarty Lucas; two sons, Cas Lucas of Lake Charles and Leo Lucas of Long Island, N. Y.; two daughters, Mrs. Cicero Adams of Sikes and Mrs. Doyle Anding of Baton Rouge; two brothers, William Lucas of Chatham and Enos Lucas of Shreveport; two sisters, Mrs. Rosa Devore of Alexandria and Mrs. Becky Watson of Pineville; nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
