Former Winn Resident Dies In Nederland

Funeral services were conducted at Couley Methodist Church Friday, May 3rd,
for Mrs. Minnie K. Luther, wife of Richard Lee Luther.  She was 83.

Mrs. Luther was a charter member of the Mt. Zion Women's Society of Christian
Service at Wheeling, La.  Later they moved to Couley and the ladies of the
Couley Methodist Church met and organized a WSCS in Mrs. Luther's home and
elected her president.

In 1970, the Luthers moved to Nederland, Texas where she died May 2nd.

She is survived by her husband, Richard Lee Luther of Nederland, Texas; four
sons, Burnell Luther of Orange, Texas, R. L. Luther of Baton Rouge, La., James
and Ezra Luther of Nederland, Texas, and one daughter, Mrs. W. O. Tilton of
Ville Platte, La.; 14 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.
