Lonnie Wesley Franks

Services for Lonnie Wesley Franks of Sicily Island, La., were held at 10 a.m.
Friday, April 27, in the chapel of Young's Funeral Home in Ferriday, La., with
the Rev. Paul Kolb officiating.  Graveside services were at 1:30 p.m. with
burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery, Winnfield, La.

Mr. Franks, 74, died Tuesday, April 24, 1990 about 11 a.m. in Baton Rouge
Medical Center, Baton Rouge, La., after a short illness.

He was a former mayor of Sicily Island, an office he held for 32 years.  He
was a member of the Sicily Island First Baptist Church, a member of the
Masonic Lodge, and a retired insurance agent.  Mr. Franks, born May 28, was
a former resident of Winnfield.

Survivors include his wife, Jessie Mae Sanders Franks of Sicily Island; two
daughters, Martha Ann Warren of Bucyrus, Kan., and Pam Franks Bowers of Baton
Rouge; one brother, Bill Franks of Baton Rouge; two sisters, Marie Neese of
Baton Rouge and Merle Valentine of Monroe; six grandchildren and two great
grandchildren.
